Juli Amodei

Juli Amodei ~ President

Juli is the creative marketing executive and proprietor of 12 Toes Promotions, located in Cambria, California.  She established her advertising agency in 2000 to provide marketing, advertising, custom web design and public relations to small business, corporate, and nonprofit clients.

Juli graduated from Fresno Christian High School and continued her education to obtain a degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from Reedley College.  Her agency currently manages well over 200 clients.

Serving as President of the Fresno County Women’s Chamber of Commerce for two years and in concert with the board of directors, a decision was made in 2008 to create and promote a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing grant resources and economic opportunities for women.  Professional Women’s Resource (PWR) was born.

Juli is the proud mother of Kayla and David.

Connie Smith

Aletha Lang ~ Vice President

Aletha and her husband Tom Lang founded an aquarium custom design, installation and maintenance business while in college.  After 30 years, Aquarius Aquaium, Inc. is the premier professional aquarium design and service company in the Central Valley.

Aletha is currently Chair of the Board of Directors of the nonprofit 501(c)(3) Aquarius Aquarium Institute, working to build a public aquarium in the Central Valley and to elevate public conscientious and understanding of our aquatic world.  She is also a past President and 1st Vice-president of Fresno County Women’s Chamber of Commerce.  Aletha also served as past President of the Fresno Dance Repertory.

Roxanne Hinds ~ Director

Roxanne is a native Californian who returned to this state in 2005 to accept a position as Development Director for the College of Science and Mathematics at Fresno State.  In June, 2011 she made a slight career shift to accept a job with University of Phoenix where she works in the Enrollment Department. Roxanne has been active with nonprofits in Utah, Washington, and here in the Central Valley. She served on Girl Scout boards of directors in both Utah and in California. Scouting is important to her because she was in scouting from Brownies through High School.  She is a long-term member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals as well as a past board member and past president of the local chapter. In Utah, Roxanne was president of the Perry’s Egyptian Theater Foundation board which helped install a Mighty Wurlitzer Organ in the restored 1920’s theater. 

Roxanne likes public speaking and teaching others. She is a proud graduate from Weber State University where she also worked as an adjunct faculty member in the Communication Department for 3 years before relocating. Presently she is completing her Master of Arts in Education focused on adult education and training at University of Phoenix.

Stan Tom ~ Director

Stan’s current position, Vice President/Marketing and Relationship Manager with Valley Small Business Development Corporation (VSBDC) involves developing program relationships with governmental agencies and non-profit groups; overseeing specialized loan programs with community-based organizations; and acquiring additional sources of capital for the direct loans programs. Prior to this assignment, for three years, Stan was a Loan Officer responsible for the direct loan programs.

Before joining VSBDC in 2000, Stan was the lead business counselor for the Central California Small Business Development Center, Fresno office, specializing in the areas of business plan development, marketing, and small business management. Also, he was a small business owner for fourteen years, giving him insight on the many issues that face a small business owner.

Other community activities include serving on the Board of Directors for the Housing Alliance of Fresno; serving on the Board of Directors and being a founding board member of the Asian Business Institute & Resource Center; and serving as a member of the New Markets Tax Credit Advisory Committee for Clearinghouse CDFI.

He graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Laura Whitehouse ~ Director

Laura L. Whitehouse has a diverse background in fundraising, marketing, public relations, government relations, broadcast journalism and communications.  As Vice President of Development for Mental Health Systems, Inc., Whitehouse does major gift fundraising for a four county region in California.  She joined Mental Health Systems, Inc. in the fall of 2013, after four years with The Salvation Army as a Donor Relations Director, a term as President and CEO of the Fresno City and County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and four years with the National Parks Conservation Association, where she served as the Senior Program Manager for the Pacific Region in the Central Valley Field Office. In this role, Whitehouse testified before Congress, securing an increased appropriation.

Whitehouse was honored with the “National Rising Star Award” from Women in Communications, Inc. in 1990 and “Public Relations Professional of the Year” by the Public Relations Society of America Central California Chapter in 2001.  In addition, her work in marketing and communications has earned numerous Addy Awards and honors from the Western Fairs Association.

Whitehouse has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Radio/TV/Film and a minor in Women’s Studies from California State University, Fullerton.  In addition, she is a graduate of the San Joaquin Political Academy and Leadership Fresno.

Laura is the proud mother of three sons and one daughter.

Jennifer Shepherd ~ Director

Jennifer is the sales manager at Chicago Title, where she has worked since 1995. She graduated from Bullard High and received her B.A. in History from UCLA.

Jennifer is an active member or many professional and community organizations. She is a past president of the Fresno County Women's Chamber of Commerce and Fresno Commercial Real Estate Women. Past awards include the Community Housing Council Member of the Year, the Fresno Assoc. of Realtors Affiliate of the Year and the FCWCC Tillie Tuschoff award. She is passionate about supporting women in their professional development and personal growth and about serving the community.

An avid reader, baker, sporadic blogger and Zumba enthusiastic, Jennifer lives with her husband Jeff in Fresno. They have 6 children and 3 grandchildren.
